Best Float Balls Made of Stainless Steel

Float balls are basically buoyant objects that are made in different shapes. Some may be cylindrical in shape while others are spherical. They are also made of very strong material much as it must also be buoyant enough to serve the purpose. However, the material must be either rigid or flexible but must withstand different pressures occasioned by fluids.

Float Balls are mainly used in monitoring of fluid levels. It is for this reason that they are used to demarcate surface levels of fluids in containers. Translucent tubes can also use float balls in checking fluid levels. All float balls work mainly on the premise of buoyancy. The specific gravity of the material to be used must always be less than that of the fluid in which the float balls are to be used. This is the main guidance to the material used for float balls.

Most float balls are either made of plastic or Stainless Steel Float Balls. Several factors inform the choice of these two materials. Buoyancy is the main informing factor in plastic as material used in making float balls. This is why it is used in many situations for making float balls. There are other factors that can however inhibit the use of plastic float balls. The fluid in question is one such factor.

Plastic does react with some fluids. This necessitates the choice of another material. The best choice in this case is stainless steel. The reduced reactivity of stainless steel is its main strength. Most chemicals are not known to react with stainless steel.

Stainless steel float balls are used in different sectors of life. First of all, they are needed in the food industry particularly within the domain of food processing. Tanks that are used to store fluid ingredients need float balls so as to monitor remaining levels of the fluids. Stainless steel float balls come in handy since such food products may have chemical contents that could react to materials such as plastics. The pressure in food tanks also requires strong float balls which stainless steel guarantees.

In chemical engineering, the use of float balls is also of paramount importance especially in checking fluid levels. Obviously, some chemicals used in this industry are highly corrosive and would react with many metals. However, stainless steel does not react with most of the known chemicals in this industry. Excessive heating of chemicals in the industry leads to high pressure and temperature. This obviously means that one must use float balls that can withstand such extreme conditions. Another strong reason why stainless steel float balls are opted for. The other area where stainless steel float balls are used is in demarcation of fluid levels of water and sewage in vacuum trucks that transport these two fluids.
